Dan’s career in Film, TV & Commercials began when he worked as a development executive for New York based production company Good Machine. He went on to work with filmmaker Wes Anderson and was an associate producer on the film “The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou."

After working with Wes, Dan struck out on his own, co-writing and directing “FCU: Fact Checkers Unit” – a short film starring Bill Murray and Kristen Schaal that follows the exploits of a pair of self-serious Fact Checkers for a gossip magazine. The film attracted over four million views online and screened in competition at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival. FCU went on to win “Best Comedy Short” at the 2009 Just For Laughs Comedy Festival.

Following the success of “FCU: Fact Checkers Unit,” Dan struck a deal with cell phone maker Samsung to continue the story of the Fact Checkers over the course of a 13 episode web series, featuring the latest line of Samsung phones and a string of guest stars such as James Franco, T-Pain, and Alex Trebek. The series premiered on Hulu.com and attracted over 10 million views worldwide. The James Franco episode was also nominated for a Webby. In addition, Dan has directed campaigns for AT&T, Budweiser, Sony, Tru Moo, Vanguard, and US Cellular, among others.

As a writer, Beers has worked on the 20th Century Fox Animated features “ICE AGE: CONTINENTAL DRIFT” and “RIO,” as well as having written pilots for 20th Century Fox, MTV, and NBC/Universal.

Dan’s feature directorial debut, the comedy Premature, debuted at SXSW 2014 where it was acquired by IFC Films. He's also directed episodes for the TBS comedy Angie Tribeca, created by Steve and Nancy Carrell, and starring Rashida Jones, as well as multiple episodes of the Emmy-winning Netflix comedy The Who Was Show starring Andy Daly. Dan most recently directed the pilot The Demons of Dorian Gunn for Jax Media, Lionsgate, and Pop.

Dan lives in Brooklyn with his wife and twin daughters.
